Preventative Care & Your Pet
Our goal with preventative care is to prevent disease before it happens. The team at Montclair Animal Hospital believes that it’s much easier to prevent illness than it is to try to cure a disease after it happens. Preventative care looks different for every pet, and will change as your pet ages. We are here for your pet at every stage of their life.
A preventative care plan may include:
- Behavioral counseling
- Dental care
- Nutritional counseling
- Parasite prevention
All of the elements in the list above are great additions to a standard preventative care plan. Our veterinary team may recommend other treatments that could benefit your pet’s health in the long run. We will do everything we can to help prevent your pet from contracting or developing diseases with our high quality preventative care program.
When you bring your pet in to Montclair Animal Hospital for a wellness visit, we’ll ask you questions about their overall health. You know your pet’s habits and behavior best, after all. We’ll also discuss any preexisting conditions that they are already being treated for.
Regular visits to our clinic will make sure that we’re able to keep track of your pet’s health and spot any changes before they become a health issue. With all of your pet’s wellness exams, we’ll take diagnostic tests such as blood work to establish a baseline of health for your pet. We’ll help you make sure that your pet is on the right track to living a long, healthy life.
